How to Participate in the Nutmeg Book Award:
STUDENTS:
Read and Vote for Your Favorite Nutmeg Book: Students in grades 2-12 and any other interested readers are warmly invited to read, enjoy, and vote each April for their favorite Nutmeg book.
Please contact your school or public library for your place to vote.
Serve on a Nutmeg Book Selection Committee:
- Students in Grades 6 & 7 may apply to serve on the Intermediate committee
- Students in Grades 8 & 9 may apply to serve on the Teen committee
- Students in grades 10 & 11 may apply to serve on the High School committee
- There are no student readers on the Elementary committee

TEACHERS:
Share the Nutmeg nominees with students, encourage activities, and use our website for ideas. If there is no voting in place in your school, you can submit your class votes during the month of April or collaborate with your local library. Please contact us with any questions.
LIBRARIANS:
Encourage your students/patrons to read the Nutmegs. Create programs and activities designed to promote reading from the lists. Collect votes in April. Tell teachers, parents, and other interested people about these lists of great books.
SERVE ON A BOOK SELECTION COMMITTEE OR NUTMEG STEERING COMMITTEE
Members of CASL and CLA are invited to serve on a Book Selection Committee and then the Nutmeg Steering Committee.
