How does Nutmeg work, now that there are 2 levels?

The two lists are targeted toward 4th - 6th graders; 7th - 8th graders respectively. However, if a child has read 1 or more books on either list, the child may vote for that level. For example, if a 3rd grader has read A Bear Named Trouble, he may vote for it. Or, if a 5th grader has read The Last Apprentice, she may vote for it. 6th graders may choose to read either list or both. However, this does not mean that every book on the 4-6th grade list is appropriate for a 3rd grader or that every 5th grader need read from the 7-8th grade list. Decide how best to make Nutmeg's new flexibility work for you, and use your best judgment. Enjoy!!
